The Master of Arts in Hindi (MHD) is offered at Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU). The program provides an in-depth exploration of the Hindi literature and language. This is a 2-year course offered by the School of Humanities at IGNOU in Hindi language. IGNOU University offers admission in two academic sessions January & July academic session.

Admission to the IGNOU MA Hindi program is open for all eligible students under the January 2025 academic session. IGNOU MA Hindi Admission 2025 last date is 15 February 2025. Candidates are requested to apply before the deadline. Applicants can directly apply online using the IGNOU Samarth portal, @ignouadmission.samarth.edu.in. Here, they have to register, log in, fill out the application form, upload the required documents, pay the fee, and complete the process.
Students can also apply offline at the regional centers and submit hard copies of the application and documents with fees. To be eligible for the IGNOU MA Hindi program, candidates must have completed their 10+2 and a bachelor’s degree from a recognized university and 5% relaxation in the marks for those who belong to (OBC, SC, ST, PwD). Additionally, a good command of the Hindi language is required for the course. There’s no minimum age restriction for enrolling in this Master’s level program at IGNOU.
IGNOU MA Hindi Admission Fees 2025
The total fee for the IGNOU MA Hindi program is Rs. 15,400, payable in two installments annually of Rs. 7,700 each year. Additionally, applicants have to pay registration and any applicable development fees at the time of admission which is INR 300 + INR 200. The fee structure is affordable, making it accessible to a wide range of students.
IGNOU MA Hindi Admission Process 2025
The admission process is direct and candidates can do it easily online using the official Samarth portal, ignouadmission.samarth.edu.in. Students have to register, create their DEB ID (Distance Education Bureau ID), complete the application, upload the necessary documents, pay the fee, and complete the procedure. They will get a confirmation email on their registered email ID.
Eligible candidates can also apply at the nearest IGNOU regional center. For that. they have to download and take a printout of the application form, fill it out, prepare the hard copies of the required documents, and submit it with the fees.

Steps to Apply for IGNOU MA Hindi Admission 2025
To apply online for IGNOU MA Hindi admission, students must have a working laptop or desktop computer with a stable internet connection.
- Visit the official IGNOU admission website @ignouadmission.samarth.edu.in.
- Next, at the left side of the page click on the “Click here for new registration” option to access the registration form.
- Here, set the username, enter the applicant’s name, and email address, set a password, provide the mobile number of the candidate, and the verification code, and click on “Register” to complete the process.
- After completing this step, provide the registered username, password, and captcha on the right side of the page under the “Registered user login” section, and then click on “Login” to access the profile.
- Once you complete the login part, fill up the online form. Provide the required details and upload the required documents in this section.
- Next, pay the fees using UPI, net banking, and credit or debit cards.
- Finally, apply and keep a screenshot of the successful submission notification on your device. You will also receive an email regarding the application on your registered mobile number and email.
